The worlds of business influence and creative leadership converged as BHM and The Macallan hosted an elite mix of executives, creatives, and cultural tastemakers for an exclusive whisky tasting. The event took place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Macallan Lounge, Kaly Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos in celebration of BHM, the communications services company at 19.

The private affair was a true celebration of artistry, excellence, and collaboration, with guests treated to a three course dinner, and different expressions of The Macallan, the world’s most admired single malt whisky.

The distinguished list of attendees included industry titans such as Chris Ubosi, CEO of Megalectrics (owners of Beat FM, Classic FM, and Naija FM); Kingsley James of IDCL, Wema Bank director Tunde Mabawonku, Ike Chioke, Group Managing Director of Afrinvest West Africa; Chude Jideonwo and Adebola Williams, co-founders of RED For Africa; as well as the trio of Bolanle Olukanni, Lamide Akintobi and Zainab Balogun.

Other notable guests at the event included MTN’s Funso Aina, filmmaker Chris Ihidero, publisher Olumide Iyanda, Lagos State government’s Gboyega Akosile, former Lagos commissioner Steve Ayorinde, EiE’s Yemi Adamolekun, media entrepreneur  Fatu Ogwuche, THISDAY editor Wale Olaleye, Emblue’s Kelvin Orifa, Hip TV’s Ayo Animashaiun, and Mary Remy Njoku of Rok.

 

 

In a brief, impactful address, BHM founder Ayeni Adekunle says “Our journey has always been about building something that works for Africa, and proving that world-class creativity can come from here.” 

Daniel Atteh, The Macallan’s Brand Ambassador, led guests through a masterful tasting session. His presentation explored the brand’s rich heritage and the meticulous artistry behind its aged whisky collections, subtly drawing parallels between BHM’s philosophy of innovation and The Macallan’s centuries-old pursuit of perfection.
